Welcome to Season 1 Episode 1 of “99 Food and Drink Prices.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This whole new series is designed to show you what the prices of food and drink items are in countries all around the world so that you can get a pretty good idea of what the cost of living in each country that I feature is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As much as possible, I will try to list the same or similar items from episode to episode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This episode is dedicated to Sri Lanka. The currency of Sri Lanka is the Sri Lankan Rupee, abbreviated LKR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of the pictures below were taken at Keells Supermarket, except for the last picture, which was taken at a place called P&S Bakery. I decided to use Keells as my source because it’s probably the biggest and most popular supermarket chain in Sri Lanka. You can, however, often find most of the items pictured here cheaper at other shops\/stands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note: ALL PRICES ARE IN (the equivalent of) USD<\/strong> for easy comparison to other episodes of “99.” The exchange rate I used was 310 LKR to 1 USD. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
